Dragon Boat Festivals
Dragon boat festivals are the fastest growing festival activity in the world. The 7th Annual Parry Sound Dragon Boat Festival will take place on June 14, 2008. Organizing partners of the Festival are the Rotary Club of Parry Sound and the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation.
Dragon Boats
Dragon boats are the largest flat water racing canoes in the world. Constructed of solid teak, dragon boats weigh 700 kgs and are over 12 meters in length. Each Dragon Boat team consists of 20 paddlers (with a minimum of 8 females), a drummer, and a steersperson. Dragon Boats are very stable, making them suitable for participants of all abilities. Experience is not required.
